Green Tea – What’s so good about it and why should you drink it?

 

Tea is one of the most commonly consumed beverages across the world, but Green Tea has started to become a big hit within the fitness and wellness industry. The most common benefit that green tea is known for is its ability to help reduce fat mass, reduce muscle soreness and assist with healthy wellbeing. Due to all the health benefits surrounded by green tea, it’s now regarded as being a superfood.

 

What could green tea help prevent?

Green Tea is part of traditional Chinese Medicine, for centuries they have been using it to treat many ailments from headaches to depression. More recently studies have found green tea aids fat loss, gastrointestinal health, healthy skin, reduce cholesterol, prevent/ delay Alzheimer’s, lower blood pressure prevent tooth decay.

What does Green Tea Contain?

The Green Tea leaf contains B Vitamins, folate (natural folic acid), manganese, potassium, magnesium, caffeine and other antioxidants.

So… how does green tea help you to lose body fat?

Green tea has the ability to oxidise fat stores, over time decreasing overall fat stores. However, this process is only reported in non-habitual caffeine users. It is also thought that the antioxidants catechin and caffeine may help the body to burn more caffeine, which helps to speed up metabolism. In between meals is considered to be the best time to drink green tea.
