Emma will be taking on the ‘Race to the Stones’

In July of this year, My Fitness Hub’s Emma Teasdale will be taking on the ‘Race to the Stones’, a 100km non-stop journey which follows the ancient Ridgeway track, starting at The Chilterns in Oxfordshire and finishing at the famous sanding stones in Avebury.

Emma and her husband Duncan are taking on the trek in aid of local hospice, Rowans. Having already raised over £10,000 for the charity over the last few years, Emma hopes that this challenge will help raise some extra funds for the charity who are dedicated to improving the lives of people with life-limiting illnesses and their families in South East Hampshire.

Emma says “The work that the Rowans Hospice offer for people in our community is incredible. We have supported this charity in particular for a very long time and are pleased to be continuing this support into 2019.”

The 100km route passes up and along the high ground South West of Lewknor in Oxfordshire to the Thames crossing at Goring. From this point the route rises up onto the North Wessex Downs passing golden fields before finishing between the iconic towering stones of Avebury.

Over two days, Emma and Duncan will trek a total of 100km, and a total climb of 3704ft. Emma says “Duncan has completed many marathons and races in all types of terrains, most recently completing the 157km Marathon des Sables across the Sahara Desert in April last year, so he’s no stranger to a challenge! I used to run lots, and have completed The Great South run on a few occasions, but this is a completely new type of challenge for me. I have really upped my training since the beginning of the year, I have personal training and am doing a variation of the fantastic classes that we offer here at My Fitness Hub. I will certainly keep you all updated on my progress!”

Race to the Stones will start on July 13th 2019.
