Duncan’s journey to Marathon Des Sables: Week 3

Hi all,

This week I have mixed up my training a bit: outside running, gym work, TXR training and I could even be found in a 6:30am Spinning class! I’m finding it a bit boring training on my own now, especially on the long runs.

I ran in West Witterings this week-the weather was so cold and my hands were so frozen I couldn’t move my fingers…despite wearing gloves! Although Emma did manage to get a photo of me on the sand dunes where it looks rather sunny! I need it to be 30 degrees and above but never mind I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, let’s hope it’s not a juggernaut!

Still working on sorting my food out, it looks like I’ll be having a small breakfast and snack during the day and then a 1000 calorie dinner in the evening.

I’ve had trouble with my left knee this week. I had a cartilage operation two years ago and its aching after long runs. Seems to go away after an hour if I stretch but still an inconvenience! Decided I’m going to try Balance and Yoga this coming week to see if they help me…

Take care,

Duncan
