What are Chia seeds?
Fuel your pre-workouts the right way- start adding Chia seeds to your pre-workout and general daily food routine.
What are they?
Chia seeds are a tiny black edible seed that comes from the mint family native to Central America called Salvia hispanica, as well as being related to a plant called Salvia columbariae native to the USA and Mexico. Chia seeds will help fuel your hardest workouts!
Why should I add them to my food?…
Chia seeds have a strong reputation for being the no.1 pre-workout fuel. In Aztec cultures and ancient Mayan Chia was known as a ‘running food’. In fact ‘Chia’ is actually the Mayan name for ‘strength’. The pre-workout fuel is just as important as the workout itself. The better you fuel your workout the better those workouts!
Chia seeds are packed with fibre and protein to help you feel energized and build lean muscle. They provide iron, calcium and Omega-3 fatty acids. They help raise your HDL cholesterol (the GOOD cholesterol which protects against heart attack and strokes.)
Chia seeds don’t have a taste so you can add them to anything, when I say anything I really mean anything!
A few meals I will add a spoonful to my food:
Porridge, Fruit, smoothies/shakes, curry, spaghetti bolognaise, add them to your baking!
Just remember to check your teeth after you eat them!
