Fasting has become more popular throughout recent years. In the 16:8 diet, people eat what they want for an 8-hour window and then fast the remaining 16 hours. Studies have been found to show the 16:8 diet has helped to lower blood pressure.
The idea is that you can eat whatever you want within the 8-hour window but outside this window, you are only able to have water. Studies into the diet revealed that people taking part in the 16:8 ate managed to lower their systolic blood pressure. A lot of fasting diets can be very strict and as a result hard to follow. However, when you realise with this diet you can eat for one-third of an entire day it works out at quite a substantial amount! Different ways of eating work for different people but if you haven’t tried fasting yet why not start with the 16:8?
